you forgot me, 2022

12in x 18in x 12in
Denim with laser engravings, film negatives, poly-fil, cotton thread

Artist statement:
This piece categorizes lost memories and plays with my fear of being forgotten. The bear is sewn out of denim with lasered engravings on its surface. The engraved images are from scanned photographs I collected at local thrift stores, all “forgotten” images, such as photographs left in old cameras or photo albums that have now been discarded. I preserved these forgotten memories into an art piece and used these to symbolize my own fear of forgetting the most important memories in my life and the inevitable fear of being forgotten.
